John Seelander, ISSA Board President – John re-joins the ISSA Board of Directors this year, now serving his second tenure as President.
As President I have the distinct pleasure of supporting a highly qualified and motivated board of directors and Association Manager. Our goal is to bring industry leading training to our local markets, represent our industries interests with Legislators and provide opportunities for our industry to network and have fun. I joined the board to get more involved in the industry as a whole. I wanted to help shape the future of our industry and share my experience with others.
I have been active on and off with ISSA since 1992. I took a few years off to support the needs of the American Staffing Association and when that tenure was complete, I wanted to continue to give back so I returned to ISSA to help it with its mission. I love working with the professionals on our board and our membership.
Current Role – I was born into the staffing industry and many years ago, got a chance to lead my own team and company. As the VP of The Plus Group, I lead a team of industry professionals that are second to none. They are highly qualified, motivated and shining stars in the industry. The company is 9 times Best of Staffing for both Talent and Client.
Passions – Treating people like I want to be treated. Making today better than yesterday. Helping others.
Family – I’m 2nd generation Staffing. My parents showed me the ropes. I work with my wife to support our business enterprises. We have four kids that are following the passions they have. Not sure it will lead to staffing but that is perfectly fine with me.
Favorite Pastime – Love to spend time on the mountains skiing, time in the Boat in the summer, and enjoying time with friends and family.
James T. Jarboe, TSC, CSP – ISSA Board Member
Current Role – VP/CFO for JOS Staffing, which is a regional (Indiana, Illinois, and Kentucky) Staffing/Recruiting Organization, located in Evansville, IN. Now entering the 10th year in business, JOS Staffing serves a variety of clients, with offices in Evansville, IN and Henderson, KY. In October 2015, earned Technical Service Certified (TSC) and Certified Staffing Professional (CSP) through the American Staffing Association (ASA).
Before this experience, my wife and I previously owned a Marketing Consulting Firm. While consulting a client in the Staffing Industry on sales/marketing, it occurred to me that the staffing industry was a fascinating industry that was positioned for long term growth. When the owner suggested he might retire, it was quickly realized that this was a unique opportunity. We sold our Marketing business on December 31st and started in the staffing industry on January 1st, even though it was 2009 and the industry was in a recession.
Prior to this experience spent several years in the pharmaceutical/diagnostics industry, in sales, management and marketing functions. Working as a Regional Sales Manager, while living in St. Louis, MO., earned an MBA degree, from Webster University.
Involvement in ISSA – Since forming JOS Staffing, we have always been committed to personal growth and development, for all of our associates. As a member of ASA, we found a void in services in Southern Indiana and Western Kentucky and reached out to the Illinois side of our business, through ISSA. After attending our first ISSA meeting and Midwest Conference, we knew immediately that we wanted to be a part of this organization. The training, networking and development we have received from attending ISSA sponsored functions have been overwhelmingly positive and rewarding.
Passions and Family – Susan Jarboe, President of JOS Staffing, and I met in High School and married soon after college. We have (4) wonderful children and (2) grandchildren. Both of us coming from large families, we spend a lot of time enjoying each other’s extended families. In fact, this Holiday season was very exciting, as we participated in (10) official family functions and religious ceremonies, in just a few days.
Pastimes – When we are not involved with our family or church, we love to spend time at our lake house, on Barkley Lake, in Western KY. It always seems to provide quality time away boating, skiing and fishing. Having children in Nashville, Indianapolis, and Chicago, continual travel is always a pleasant part of our lives.
Zenja Glass – ISSA Board Member
Zenja Glass has been recruiting in the staffing industry for nearly 30 years after getting her first job as a recruiter while pursuing her graduate studies at Marquette University in Wisconsin.
Current Role – She is the owner of Unlocking Greatness Staffing, Inc. in Prospect Heights, IL. Her company services the manufacturing and administrative sectors throughout the USA. Because of her passion for helping children, her agency is very committed to helping kids by donating money to nonprofit agencies that rescue children from human trafficking. Their motto is: Create Jobs. Help Kids.
Involvement in ISSA – After attending her first ISSA event in 2018, Zenja stated she was so impressed with the speakers and the knowledge the ISSA members were willing to share, that she immediately joined ISSA as an active member.
Passions and Family – Zenja is married with four children (2 are adults, and 2 are in high school). She is also a published author of career books that teach job seekers how to get hired. Her books have been featured on MSNBC, Fox News, ABC Chicago, and other outlets.
Favorite Pastimes – Some of Zenja’s favorite pastimes are working all day in the garden in Arkansas with her grandfather and raising farm animals. She says that even though she moved away from the country life many moons ago, deep in her heart, she will always be a country girl.
Joe Gallelli – ISSA Board Member
Current Role – I’m the President of Total Staffing Solutions and oversee all of the organization’s activities. I ended up in this role after spending 15 years in a Vice President role at an Accounts Receivable Management firm, when the directors needed a replacement for the past President. I had used staffing firms in my old role and was familiar with the process, but never worked on the agency side. Needless to say there was a lot of learning as I went along, but I was lucky to have the team in place that I did and currently do to keep the operation moving in the right direction!
Involvement in ISSA – I met an ISSA Board member when I was evaluating new ATS providers and she mentioned there were openings on the ISSA board. I had past experience serving on industry boards in various roles so I figured volunteering to be on the board would be a great way for me to not only increase my industry knowledge in a more formal setting but also allow me the ability to meet industry leaders and begin to develop new relationships.
Family – My wife and I have been married for over 8 years and we have 3 wonderful boys ages 7 and twin 5-year old’s who have brought us nothing but joy and challenges, especially the twins, our two little miracles being born at 26 weeks!
Passions and Pastimes – I’m passionate about my family and my organization, in particularly our employees, who I want to succeed not only professionally but in their personal goals as well. In my free time I enjoy coaching my kids in various sports, playing golf, reading and learning new skills relating to computer programming and data analysis.
